Letterpress PLAY is a south Austin letterpress design studio that makes zero waste, paper toys, cards, posters and garments on beautiful, antique presses.  While we are always on the lookout for people who love making things, we are currently looking to fill the positions listed below. Our work environment is casual and diverse, with a fast-paced schedule and opportunities for growth.


 

Part-Time Retail Associate:

The Retail Associate is responsible for exceptional customer service and completing tasks delegated by the Retail Manager.

Retail Associate Responsibilities:

  • Fosters and maintains the company culture of Play with both customers and coworkers
  • Follows directions and task details from Retail Manager
  • Provides exceptional customer service to each and every customer
  • Is knowledgeable about each product and tries to add on items during each sale
  • Is committed to maintaining the beauty of the retail space
  • Works with the Retail Manager to maintain inventory and expectations of shipments
  • Helps to create social media of the store’s activities
  • Works the point-of-sale device

Administrative Assistant:


We are seeking a self-motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant at Letterpress PLAY. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the management of the workflow inside our letterpress print and block printing/soft goods studio, ensuring smooth operations and efficient production processes. Your primary duties will include maintaining files, organizing the studios, managing the production calendar, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Additionally, you will provide support to the Creative Director by assisting with tasks, errands, and project planning.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in the management of workflow inside the letterpress print studio and block printing studio.
  • Maintain files and organize studio spaces to ensure efficiency.
  • Manage the production calendar to assist with the scheduling and prioritizing of tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in the studio.
  • Assist the Creative Director with tasks, errands, and project planning.
  • Project management assistance with vendors


Job Requirements and Skills:

  • At least one-year previous experience in a similar administrative or assistant role preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of print production processes is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities and deadlines (this is a non-negotiable).


Work Environment:
The work environment will primarily be within the print studio and block printing studio, which may involve exposure to printing equipment, machinery, light non-toxic fume, and various materials used in production. The role may require occasional lifting or moving of supplies and materials.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the studio spaces for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of supplies and materials, up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination for handling equipment and materials.
