On Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:30 AM, we invite you to join us at Letterpress PLAY for a special occasion featuring author Courtney Rubalcaba and illustrator Gabrielle Eckhardt. They will enchant us with their brand-new children's storybook, "Walking Through Texas." This delightful journey allows us to meander through the heart of Texas, encountering some of our beloved native Texan animals along the way. The story comes to life with vivid, colorful watercolor illustrations that make this book an ideal educational tool for children aged 0-6 who are eager to explore the fascinating world of Texas wildlife.

Courtney Rubalcaba, a native Texan and devoted author, dedicates herself to inspiring young readers to discover and appreciate the wonders of nature and its creatures. Living on her ranch in Lampasas, Texas, and having a background in early childhood education, Courtney was moved to create captivating and educational books for young children about Texas animals. "Walking Through Texas" marks her debut published work, with many more awe-inspiring stories in the pipeline.

Gabrielle Eckhardt, a talented watercolor artist and illustrator, hails from Austin and the surrounding regions. Her art has evolved into a powerful vehicle for sharing her vision with the local community. Although her initial career led her into the field of nursing, Gabrielle's creative spirit emerged after the birth of her second child. She transitioned into a stay-at-home mom and began nurturing her artistic talents. Now a mother of three, Gabrielle breathes life into her ideas. Her work is deeply inspired by the complexities of motherhood and the joy that prevails amidst life's challenges. Through her art, she aspires to kindle a sense of whimsy and cheer in the hearts of all who encounter it.
